VENA
NERO D’AVOLA RIPASSO wine
IGP Protected Geographical Indication
Vena is born from the vinification of Nero d'Avola and a subsequent refermentation technique, halfway between the Venetian "ripasso" and the Tuscan "government", on the pomace of the passito Frappato. Deep but at the same time delicate, ample and intriguing in its variegated bouquet. It expresses a slight sweetness, never excessive, supported by good acidity and fragrance, the result of the unusual combination of the two varieties.
For this Nero d'Avola Frappato the particular "ripasso" technique was chosen, marrying the Nero with the fermented pomace of our passito di Frappato, which is not by chance called Between Heaven and Earth. Its passage on the pomace for a certain period manages to give it an extreme elegance, a vein of sweetness, in fact, giving rise to a treasure of aromas. Vena achieves the goal of softening the severe character of Nero d'Avola, obtaining a slightly sweet version of the great Sicilian wine, but without resorting to wood.
