Color intense ruby with purple reflections , it releases aromas on the nose aromas of small red fruits, spices and balsamic notes typical of the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it stands out for vibrant freshness, silky tannins and a pleasant sapidity , which make it balanced and persistent.
Produced by Cantine Pepi , this wine comes from Syrah grapes grown with traditional methods and harvested at the end of September. Matto can age up to 4 years , best expressing its complexity.

Origin : Hills around Licodia Eubea, in the extreme south-eastern edge of Sicily
Vineyards : From vineyards facing east, in the Dirillo river valley, characterised by a cool microclimate and notable temperature variations

Training system : Simple Guyot espalier
Harvest : Second/third week of September
Vinification : Fermentation in steel for 10/12 days, with short cold pre-fermentation maceration, malolactic fermentation and refinement in stainless steel
Alcohol content : 13.5/14% vol

Aroma : Notes of small red fruits, fresh, accompanied by balsamic nuances typical of the Mediterranean scrub
