AGATE
FRAPPATO wine
IGP Sicilian lands
It is a wine with a ruby red color, light and fragrant. Fresh on the nose with hints of small red fruits and delicate floral notes. With a lively and full taste, characterized by a pungent freshness and pleasant sapidity.
It was Sicily and its Greeks who gave the agate a name. The hard stone that shines in concentric layers of color is related to the Acates River. There it was discovered, keeping its name forever, while the river changed it several times, finally calling itself Dirillo. For a long time it was believed that agate ground and drunk with wine healed wounds.
Agate comes from frappato grapes, bunches that are already beautiful to look at and that give the wine, pleasantly tannic, a red color that fades into purple, with hints of red fruits and a characteristic freshness.
